Dužijanca is the harvest festival of the Bunjevac people.  It is a very old tradition, dating back to the ancient times, when it was a celebration devoted to the  God of Fertility. Over times, it developed into an overall farmers’ festival and celebration.  Dužijanca is tied to St Marc’s holiday, when farmers set off to the fields and blessed the wheat. Harvest usually started on St Peter’s Day, often symbolically, if the wheat wasn’t ripen enough. The wheat was gathered into bundles, the bundles were dispersed into a circle, in the centre of which a stake was set to tie a horse to. The horse stepped over the bundles with hoofs and wheat settled on the ground with reed on top of it.The first revived Dužijanca was held in 1968 in an urban environment, and has been celebrated as such ever since. The ceremonial procession, dominated by an abundance of Bunjevac national attire, moved about the city, thus keeping up traditional harvest customs of Bunjevac people  and saving them from sinking into oblivion.

Dudova suma  is the city park. It was named after a mulberry field  planted at the end of the18th century to advance the silkworm breeding. This agricultural attempt  failed, however the mulberry field grew into a mulberry forest. In the middle of the previous century, it was turned into a city park  and became the favourite promenade and sports centre. The first foodball field was built there  before the First World War; later on tennis and other sports courts were built, and recently a sports hall, as well.
